Program Overview

Goalkeeping is a unique position, which requires attention to detail. As a result, SUGS is one of our most specialized and innovative individual development programs. It focuses on the growth of goalkeepers at a variety of age and skill levels.

Seacoast United’s Goalkeeper School will focus on technical, tactical, psychological, and physical aspects of the position.

Technical Topics Cover: 

· Correct Footwork

· Catching

· Receiving

· Deflecting

· Punching

· Tipping

· Parrying

· Distribution

· Collapse & Extension Diving

· Breakaways

· Crosses

· Foot skills (regards to back passes)

 

Tactical Topics Cover:

· Organizing the defense

· Controlling the area

· Game Restarts

· In-game positioning

· Starting Attacks

· Establishing correct temp of play

 

For the Fall 2020 season, the Seacoast United Maine Goalkeeping School program will be offered at TWO location during the Fall:

  • Freeport (Ages: 14-19)
  • Cumberland (Ages: 10-13)
