Seacoast United is proud to announce its club soccer teams will compete in the EDP National League and the New England Club Soccer League (NECSL) beginning Fall of 2021. This new partnership will create connectivity for all SUSC regions, teams, and age groups. All players will register under the US Youth Soccer Association (USYSA) player pass umbrella, allowing the opportunity for player movement, as well as a clear structure for teams.
The "Player Development Pathway" starts with local and regional game opportunities, but also enhances the relationship between local league and Academy level through the EDP National League. EDP also manages the "National League PRO", allowing even greater exposure at college showcases for the top National League teams.
"The timing is right for Seacoast United to make the move," said Iain Scott, SUSC Director of Soccer Operations.
"It is unusual for two leagues to work together, but John Tait (National League) and Sean Carey (NECSL) work hand-in-hand at placing teams correctly. Ultimately, we are encouraged that these two groups working together can help define a clear landscape for youth soccer. With the MLS Next (Boys Academy) and Girls Academy League at the top of the USYSA youth soccer pyramid, it just made sense for us to work with the professional organizations of EDP and NECSL under the same umbrella," Scott added.
This is an exciting time at Seacoast United and information on tryouts for all regions will be available before the end of April.
